    Dear Sir.
You refer to the stair rule as being between 600 and 640mm.
My reading of the Building Regulation mentions 2 risers and 1 going needs to be between 550 and 700mm.
Am I confusing different ’sets of rules’?

    Dear Andrew,
Building Regulations change from country to country and the acceptabe limits for the stair rule will also change given the type of stair. Here in France 600-640mm is the standard for interior stairs but steps in a garden can be built up to 700 or 800. In StairDesigner you can use the “control” button in the stair well parameters tool box to define the stair rule according to your own local specs.
    Hope this is useful
    All the best
